It's been a while since I’ve sat down to write a classic update, but here we are. Life is packed, and every day feels like a game of Tetris—fitting everything in just right. But as challenging as it is, I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Here’s what I’ve learned along the way.
One of the biggest surprises in my life has been the time I get to spend with my kids. Growing up, I watched my parents work the traditional 9-to-5, and I often wonder how much actual time we had together.
Now, I make it a priority to get outside with my kids as much as possible—letting them explore the dirt, play in the mud, and discover the world on their own terms. With the weather warming up, it’s even easier to make those moments happen.
I’ve been back with the Western Taney County Fire District for over a year now, and it reminds me how much I love this work. Firefighting is about showing up when people are at their worst, providing help and reassurance when they need it most.
In many ways, this parallels my work in fitness. At the gym, I help people who are already well get even stronger. And with Waypoint Coaching, I guide people in their personal challenges. Every aspect of what I do ties into the Sickness, Wellness, and Fitness Continuum, making a meaningful impact at every stage.
My wife, Sabrina, has been absolutely crushing it with Rise Play Park. This is a true brick-and-mortar startup, and she’s making it just as polished and professional as any big-name attraction in Branson.
Her focus? Two distinct markets. The tourist crowd, of course, but also the locals—offering memberships and birthday party packages at unbeatable prices. If you haven’t seen what she’s built yet, check it out:
I’ve launched Waypoint Coaching with a focus on Misogi Planning. The idea is to help people pursue their big, transformative challenges—not just in fitness but in life.
A Misogi is a personal challenge that pushes you past what you think you can handle. It’s about breaking through mental and physical barriers, proving to yourself that you're capable of more. When you take on a challenge that truly scares you, you come out mentally sharper, physically stronger, and more resilient.

I’ve been pushing hard with content creation, posting nearly two videos a week on YouTube. The goal is simple—highlight the amazing stuff happening at CrossFit Branson while providing value on fitness and training.
If you haven’t watched any of our new Member Les’s videos, they’re incredibly inspiring. And if you haven’t subscribed yet, do it now—it’s a simple way to support us!
I know it’s Wednesday, and you’re probably just figuring out what’s for lunch. But if you look ahead and plan your workouts now, you’ll remove decision fatigue and increase your success rate.
I swear by my Google Calendar—I check it hourly. If it says “workout,” that’s what I do. Plan your workouts today, then make it a habit to schedule them every week.
Pick one foundational habit for next week: sleep, water, or protein. Build a system around it.
For example, if you choose sleep, set a schedule—same bedtime, same wake-up time, every day (yes, even on weekends).
You’d be surprised how much your inputs influence your outcomes. The things you consume—food, media, habits—either push you forward or hold you back.
Today, list five things you could consume less of. Maybe it’s social media, junk food, negative news, or distractions that keep you from your goals. Make a conscious decision to cut them out.
I’m brainstorming an Open House event at the gym to bring in more people, reinvest in our space, and create more content. Stay tuned for details!
Right now, I don’t have a specific event lined up—but I’m on the hunt for my own Misogi challenge. I’ve got a few ideas in mind, but just like you, I need to sit down and commit to one.
The Advice Trap by Michael Bungay Stanier – A deep dive into leadership, humility, and curiosity.
The David Series on Amazon Prime. (It’s messing with my sleep schedule, but totally worth it.)
A sound machine on the thunderstorm setting—thanks to Sabrina, I don’t sleep without one anymore.
If you’ve made it this far—thank you! I hope this post was valuable or at least entertaining. I’d love to hear your feedback.
Does this kind of update resonate with you? Do you want more? Less? Something different? Let me know.
And if you found this valuable, share it with someone who might benefit from it!
Until next time—keep pushing forward.
